Construction Management is an applied, interdisciplinary subject dealing with the management of the construction process from idea to reuse. The construction process refers to the circular process that includes the various stages of construction: procurement, design, production, management, rebuilding, renovation and dismantling in an overall perspective.

Central issues are how the cooperation between the various actors in the construction process is organized and how technical solutions could be implemented to get an efficient process that results in a product that meets the set requirements. Furthermore, a sustainable construction process requires digital tools to be able to assess both social and economic consequences that can be used in decision-making. The existing buildings create conditions for the construction sector to develop a circular economy, but stakeholders and markets need to be managed, which means that anchoring processes and communication gain increased importance.
