Division of Energy and Building Design

Buildings account for a significant amount of the total energy use in Sweden. Aside from requiring a lot of energy and environmental impact to construct, they have continual energy needs throughout their lifespan. Our work is focused on creating energy-efficient buildings and neighbourhoods with a low environmental impact.

Some of the focus areas are the utilisation of passive solar energy through daylight and solar heat gains, active solar energy by means of PV and Solar Thermal systems, Life Cycle Analyses, Natural Ventilation and Circular Building Design.

We are involved in research projects, education and have a strong collaboration with the industry.
