The Division of Fire Safety Engineering performs research and education that aims to create a society that is safe from fires and other accidents.

The research that we perform is related to (but not limited to) fire physics, human behaviour, modelling, wildfires, sustainability and risk assessment. We are responsible for essential parts of the Fire Safety Engineering programme at LTH and the International Master in Fire Safety Engineering (IMFSE). In addition, we are responsible for the education of PhD students in the research field of fire safety engineering. Co-operation with other universities and colleges is carried out regarding both education and research. The research and education in fire safety has a long history at LTH.
